Horses, riders, and equine enthusiasts from 63 countries came to Lexington, Kentucky for the 2010 World Equestrian Games (WEG). Figures showed a total economic impact of greater than $200 million from the event. Almost 420,000 tickets were either sold or given away to spectators who flocked to the Kentucky Horse Park to watch competition in eight disciplines. Driving, reining, dressage, jumping, eventing, endurance, vaulting, and paraequestrian were featured at WEG, an equestrian spectacle held every four years. Previous to the Kentucky location, all WEG events were conducted in Europe. WEG 2014 will be sited in Normandy, France.
